WELCOME

Welcome to the 5th Next Generation High Efficiency Photovoltaics International School and Workshop!

NEXTGEN (Next Generation High Efficiency Photovoltaics) International School and Workshop, now entering its 5th Edition, in collaboration this year with the RenewPV School. After a pause due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, our eagerness to reconvene, reconnect, and rekindle our shared passion for pioneering photovoltaic research is stronger and more necessary than ever. We are pleased to invite you to join us in the inspiring setting of Caixa Forum of Palma de Mallorca (Spain), from September 9th to 12th, 2024.

NEXTGEN is organized as a RenewPV training school, and the main aim is to review the state of the art and existing challenges related to the implementation of new technology-based concepts for solving the main problems in the development of cost-efficient and sustainable PV. The school will provide a suitable platform allowing an efficient sharing of the experience and visions of well known experts from different academic, research and industry groups with young researchers, looking forward to fruitful and constructive interaction and ideas exchange.

NEXTGEN will also include a specific “Lab to Industry” session (From Lab to Factory: Revolutionizing Photovoltaics with New Advanced Monitoring Approaches) on Monday, September 9th 2024. In this session, relevant industry representatives will describe the main challenges and needs related to the lab to industry transfer of next generation PV technologies, fostering industry-academia interaction. This will also include a short training session on the development and adoption of innovative Artificial Intelligence strategies for the achievement of high yield/high reliability industrial processes.

TOPICS

The conference will cover a wide range of PV related topics:

  • New device concepts in advanced chalcopyrite sustainable technologies
  • Emerging chalcogenide, perovskite and organic technologies
  • New materials for advanced PV devices.
  • Advanced optical spectroscopies
  • Advanced applications: Indoor, Space, Building and Product Advanced Integration concepts, Agrivoltaics, Mobility,
  • PV for harsh environments: reliability, resilience, and durability
  • Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment of emerging Technologies.
  • Emerging PV technologies in the industry
