IREC at WindEurope 2026: “Wind Catalonia: unleashing the offshore floating wind industry”

IREC will participate in the side event ‘Wind Catalonia: unleashing the offshore floating wind industry’, organised in the framework of the WindEurope Annual Event 2026 in Madrid. The session focuses on the opportunities linked to the deployment of floating offshore wind in Catalonia, and brings together key institutional stakeholders, companies and ports.

The session is led by the Catalan Trade & Investment Agency (ACCIÓ), EolicCat, IREC and the Port of Tarragona, highlighting Catalonia’s strengths as an emerging hub for floating offshore wind in the Western Mediterranean. The side event will provide an overview of the local ecosystem, including companies, research and innovation initiatives and participating ports.

IREC will showcase its research and innovation activities in floating offshore wind through the PlemCat platform, contributing to the institutional session from a scientific and technological perspective.
