The Advanced Materials for Energy Unit at the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC) develops novel materials, processes and prototypes to move towards renewable energy generation, storage and conversion for a sustainable society.
The Unit integrates four research groups, working with solar materials and systems, nanoionics and fuel cells, functional nanomaterials, energy storage, harvesting and catalysis.
Researchers at IREC today are designing better materials to come up with new concepts and solutions for the next generation energy devices.
