IN4CIS has been selected as one of the granted projects within the SOLAR-ERA.NET Co-fund call. It will develop “New in-line methodology for advanced evaluation of highly efficient industrial CIGS processes“.

In4CIS aims to establish and demonstrate at pre-industrial level optical advanced methodologies for the in-line assessment of advanced CIGS processes for the fabrication of high efficiency photovoltaic modules.
CIGS is a material based on Cu-In-Ga-Se used in thin film solar cells. It is an established industrial technology that is already competitive with silicon solar cells.

The project has a total budget of 800 k€ and will run for 3 years. The kick-off meeting was held on October the 24th, 2019, at IREC. It is led by the Solar Energy Materials & Systems at IREC, and the project partners are the University of Barcelona, the SME Lenz instruments, the research centre ZSW (world leader in CIGS technologies) and the company MANZ AG.

IREC is responsible of the design and development of the optical methodologies for process assessment, and the coordinator of the project.

Grant number PCI2019-111837-2 (Proyectos de I+D+I Programación Conjunta Internacional 2019) financed by the Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades – Agencia Estatal de Investigación.
