ECOS – Energy Efficiency in Systems, Buildings and Communities

The ECOS Research Group at the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research works with Energy Efficiency in Systems, Buildings and Communities. The group has two laboratories: The Energy SmartLab and the Semi-Virtual Energy Integration Laboratory (SEILAB).

The Energy SmartLab is a low voltage microgrid working up to 200 kVA able to operate real systems and configurable emulators. 

SEILAB provides advanced expertise on the development of energy solutions, especially HVAC and thermal equipment in buildings.

These two labs are integrated through an aggregator platform to act as positive energy districts.
