IREC participates in the BASE3D association
The association of emerging technologies named BASE3D, focused on additive manufacturing, has recently been created. This nucleus of knowledge brings together the research units that develop R+D+I activities in 3D printing with the aim to impulse the research and technology transfer within this field. The kick-off meeting was held last 6th of March 2020 in Barcelona.
The project has a total budget of 3.7 M€ and will last for 3 years. The BASE3D consortium is formed by 13 partners: CIM-UPC, leader of the project, ICIQ, IBEC, EURECAT, LEITAT, IREC, UPC, CIMNE, HSJD, IQS, UdG, UB i UAB.
IREC (Marc Torrell is the lead researcher) participates in the LIGHT3D sub-project, which focuses on the study of 3D technologies related to light, with the aim of improving materials and their use for to different applications. IREC is a specialist in 3D printing of ceramics.
The project is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development fund (ERDF) Operational Programme Catalonia 2014-2020 with a 50% funding and supported by the “Departament de Recerca i Universitats” from Generalitat de Catalunya.
